Food was awesome!!! Service was impeccable!!! And the place was super clean and had comfortable booths. The waiter was super super respectful, definitely will return!
My family has been to the Sushi Boat several times. When it first opened, it was easy to get seated and everything was pretty quick. The food is always very good. As more people find out about how good it is. There is usually a line of people waiting to be seated and the service is now taking longer too. The restaurant is pretty basic, nothing fancy. The combination fried rice is our favorite along with the sushi too. Now, we try to go at times when we don't think they will be busy. The food is excellent, and I know that I will go back again.
This is our new favorite spot for sushi. Love the green tea pots, that pour from the bottom... It's an added bit of whimsy for your dinning experience. But... be prepared to wait for a table. It's so small that it doesn't take long to fill up, and with zero extra space for standing, we had to wait for a phone call in our car. It was worth the wait. Yummy!
Quick service and fresh sushi. Phenomenal sushi. The price is right too and I like the different combinations they have of the sushi rolls. The incorporation of the lobster carcus was a good optic addition to the lobster roll.
We go for birthdays and it's such a nice treat! The quality of the food is great and the options are awesome! The people there are great and I've never had a wrong order. The rolls that we got this time were the Lucky Roll (the one on fire), Girl on Fire, Cardinals, and Mango Roll. Out of the four, I loved the Cardinals roll a lot and second best is the Girl on Fire. Other things on the menu that I loved were the fried rice, lo mein, calamari, crab Rangoon (because of their sauce!), and St. Charles Mayor Roll! I definitely would go again! At the times that I've gone, I noticed that it gets busy at dinner times, for all good reason!
Went with a girlfriend for lunch the other day and we loved it!!! It's tucked away from most other restaurants in Saint Charles, but definitely worth the drive! It's super cute inside maybe a little small. The sushi was fantastic!!! And the sided (not pictured) were a really large portion so plan to split! Our favorite was the pink lady! Super original and really delicious.
Yum, Yum, Yum!!! I would like to disclose that I lived in Japan for over three years. I am very particular about sushi. This place did not disappoint!! This spot has been showing up in my Yelp recommendations. I bookmarked this spot to try at a later time. Well, the time was now!! The space is on the smaller side. We stopped in on a Wednesday evening and the place was buzzing! The team is friendly and got us seated quickly. The menu offers all of the traditional favorites. There were a few items for the more adventurous guests. I was pleased with the age-dashi tofu and miso soup. I went with a crunchy roll and the lobster roll. Both were fantastic! They offer a small selection of beer and wine. There's also a small dessert menu to satisfy your sweet tooth. I'm looking forward to visiting again soon!!
Amazing sushi for the Midwest! Moving here from Florida it has been so hard to find fresh consistent tasting sushi. Well here you find it each roll we had seemed to be better than the last with flavor, texture, and appearance. The service was pretty good they seemed really busy, but they were attentive. Inside was really cool and quiet and not too loud at all!
Can't say enough great things about sushi boat! Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 4/5
I, too, came here after seeing the restaurant appear in Yelp's 2024 top 100 sushi restaurant list. Despite the restaurant's small size, we were seated promptly on a bustling Friday night. However, it was clear that the staff was overwhelmed by the crowd, and we didn't quite experience the warm hospitality that others had praised. The menu is impressively vast, with a notable emphasis on specialty rolls. The "Emperor's Rolls" section is particularly eye-catching, offering luxurious options that range from $30 to a staggering $80 for the Black Diamond roll, the priciest of the bunch. While the extensive menu is intriguing, the overall experience was somewhat underwhelming. The high prices might suggest a premium dining experience, but the level of service and atmosphere did not align with the expectations set by the restaurant's accolades. Despite the busy night, a bit more attention from the staff could have made a significant difference. While the restaurant's high ranking and extensive menu are certainly noteworthy, my visit fell short of the exceptional experience I had anticipated. It's worth a try if you're a sushi enthusiast intrigued by high-end rolls, but manage your expectations regarding service, especially on a busy night. Baked scallops $16 - This appetizer missed the mark and did not match the description. The large scallops were not large, there were no avocado, masago nor scallions, and spicy mayo was diluted by the eel sauce. Tasted good, but at this price, I would not order again. Dolphin Bay Roll (8 pieces) $17- Shrimp tempura, eel, salmon, and avocado. The warmth of this roll created a good mouth feel and the roll melted in my mouth. The eel flavor is subtle and I would order a different roll if I was craving eel. St. Charles Mayor Roll (10 pieces) $16 - Shrimp tempura, crabmeat, and spicy tuna. Huge roll. I'm usually not a fan of minced tuna, which is the spicy tuna in this roll, but it was done well here. Smoked Salmon nigiri (2 pieces) $8 and Eel unagi nigiri (2 pieces) $8 - Very good and fresh! .|\---/| | @_@ | ..\_^_/..2024
